- Collaborate with the AI Governance Lead to identify business opportunities and assess the potential of AI technologies, contributing to the strategic planning and implementation of AI initiatives.
- Conduct in-depth analyses of current AI applications and systems, providing detailed reports on performance and areas for improvement, ensuring they align with ethical standards and governance policies.
- Liaise with technology teams to maintain an updated understanding of AI tools and systems, advocating for the adoption of emerging technologies that can create efficiencies and offer competitive advantage, while adhering to governance guidelines.
- Engage with various stakeholders, from technical team members to project managers, effectively communicating the implications of AI projects and ensuring that all concerns and insights are incorporated into the overall AI strategy.
- Participate in risk management processes, evaluating AI and data projects for potential risks and compliance with internal governance and external regulatory requirements, aiming to mitigate associated risks before implementation.
- Support the assurance of data quality by performing regular checks and validations on data sets used for AI decision-making, to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of insights and outputs from AI systems.
- Facilitate the dissemination of AI and data governance knowledge across the organisation, contributing to the development of training materials and helping colleagues understand the importance of responsible AI usage through regular updates and presentations.
- A bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with an advanced degree being advantageous.
- Certification or formal training in AI analytics, machine learning, or data analysis, showcasing a commitment to professional development in the field of artificial intelligence.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in AI data analysis.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience with AI/ML tools and platforms, and an ability to interpret and leverage AI technologies to support business decisions.
- Familiarity with the ethical considerations and regulatory frameworks surrounding AI, including an understanding of the Information Privacy Act 2009 (QLD) and guidelines on responsible AI usage in a government context.
- Proficient in data analysis methodologies and statistical modelling, with strong data visualization skills to present findings effectively.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to conduct evidence-based analysis and draw sound conclusions in support of AI project objectives and risk management strategies.
