- Tertiary qualification in Law, with a focus on employment or industrial relations
- White Card
- Minimum 5 years' experience in employment law within a construction, infrastructure, or engineering environment is desirable
- Experience supporting investigations, audits, or compliance reviews in a regulated or unionised environment
- Experience drafting or reviewing contracts, policies, and legal correspondence
- Strong understanding of Australian employment legislation and industrial instruments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage sensitive and high-risk matters with professionalism
- Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated initiative and a proactive, solution-focused approach
- Proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed time management skills
- High attention to detail
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to research, interpret, and apply relevant legislation and case law
- Able to draft legal sensitive documents such as investigation summaries, policy frameworks, or case briefings
- Understanding of confidentiality, information security, and legal record-keeping standards
- Capability to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities
- Interpret and apply employment legislation, awards, and agreements to policies, procedures, and practices.
- Draft legal documents, correspondence and reports in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor legal developments and assess their impact on the organisation.
- Support the development and interpretation of legal advice related to restructures, workforce planning, and enterprise bargaining.
- Lead compliance audits and risk assessments.
- Support investigations and manage complex employee relations matters.
- Build internal capability through the development and delivery of training, toolkits, and mentoring.
- Draft and review HR policies, contracts, and other relevant documentation.
- Provide legal research and support on employment and industrial relations matters.
- Assist in the preparation of case files, briefing notes, and submission for internal or external legal proceedings.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of HR and legal governance frameworks.
