The Firm & The RoleOur client is an award winning national law firm with a high profile public law team. Due to growth and new clients, our client is looking to recruit a solicitor with at around the 1 to 3 year pae level.This role will see you acting for a broad range of government clients (Federal, State & Local). You will be involved in complex contractual disputes, regulatory enforcement, judicial reviews, hearings before tribunals, merits reviews, FOI matters, insurance/tortious matters, investigations as well as some general commercial litigation.There is also some advice advice work e.g. advising on the powers and functions of a government client, advising on natural justice requirements, drafting recommendations.You will be given matter and client responsibility and you will enjoy running your matters from start to finish. You will also be assisting the partners and more senior lawyers on larger, complex matters. This is an excellent role for the lawyer who enjoys going to court and enjoys developing their advocacy skills.About YouThe ideal candidate will have:
  • around 1 to 3 years pae in the area of litigation, advantageous would be public/administrative law experience
  • also advantageous would be experience in ART appearances and hearings
  • strong drafting skills as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to juggle competing priorities
  • enthusiasm, drive and commitment to progressing your career in public/administrative law
