
Project Accountant

- Manage project financials by following HDR’s project methodology and systems
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers to track revenue, costs, and project risks
- Lead monthly revenue recognition and billing processes to ensure accurate and timely invoicing
- Monitor accounts receivable and escalate payment issues as needed
- Actively particpate in project meetings including monthly reviews and close-outs
- Support budgeting and audit activities with detailed financial analysis and reporting
- Handle timesheet administration and expense reviews
- Provide insightful financial data and reporting to leadership to support business decisions
- Uphold HDR’s values and commitment to workplace safety
- Support the Regional Accounting Director and Architectural Leadership as required.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting or related discipline
- Previous experience in project accounting
- Previous experience working in the Architecture or Construction industry – highly advantageous.
- Confident in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including strong skills within Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proactive, motivated a dedicated.
- Ability to work under pressure with a solutions-focused attitude.
- Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience; an advanced degree may offset years of experience
- Familiar with Earned Value Management
- Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and collaborate with various managers in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook
