The P&C Support Officer provides high-quality administrative and operational support to the P&C team across the full employee lifecycle and policy portfolio. This role is responsible for coordinating HR processes, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Acting as a first point of contact for employee and leader enquiries, the P&C Support Officer ensures timely advice, effective escalation, and smooth delivery of workforce initiatives. The position contributes to compliance, consistency, and continuous improvement in People & Culture practices, helping to create a positive and well-supported employee experience.Role responsibility:
- Provide day-to-day support to the People and Culture team, across all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, transfers, and exits.
- Assist with the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of HR policies, procedures, and guidelines under the direction of the Manager People and Culture.
- Coordinate documentation, reporting, and records management to ensure compliance and accuracy in line with organisational and legislative requirements.
- Support the delivery of workforce initiatives, training, and engagement activities by handling scheduling, logistics, and communication.
- Draft correspondence, briefing notes, and research to inform decision-making and policy development.
- Provide responsive customer service to employees and leaders by triaging queries, escalating matters where appropriate, and ensuring timely follow-up.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in providing broad administrative support to a busy unit, with experience supporting a HR people and culture function, with end-to-end recruitment experience advantageous
- Previous experience maintaining accurate electronic and hard copy records management systems
- Proven experience in HR policy development, review, and governance in a large organisation or government context.
- Strong knowledge of relevant industrial relations and employment legislation.
- Experience with CDMS and Microsoft SharePoint management.
- Ability to draft, customise, and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- National police check
- Strong skills in MS Office suite
- Experience working with Human Capital Management (HCM) systems (e.g. TechOne, SAP, Chris21)
