You will have at least 2 years of Podiatry clinical experience and a keen interest in assessment and management of high-risk foot conditions. You will work in a diverse role across a range of acute and community services. Your week will involve working in our High Risk Foot Centre of Excellence inpatient and inter-disciplinary clinic at Fitzroy, as well as providing home based community services as a part St Vincent’s Home Based Allied Health Team at St George’s Hospital Kew. We work collaboratively to deliver evidence based clinical practice and strive for excellence.Duties
- Provide the highest standard of podiatry services to patients through effective assessment, treatment, evaluation, team liaison, and discharge planning
- Contribute to the planning and development of activities and services within and across departments
- Facilitate seamless transition for patients across the continuum of care
- Provide supervision and teaching to Grade 1 Podiatrists and undergraduate students
- Current Podiatry AHPRA Registration
- Current Victorian Drivers License
- At least 2-years clinical podiatry experience
- Highly developed communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team
- Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

The Podiatry department provides podiatry and inter-disciplinary high risk foot services to patients across multiple sites in acute, sub-acute and residential care, including at St Vincent’s Hospital Fitzroy, St George’s Hospital Kew, St Vincent's on the Park, residential facilities and correctional health facilities.The St Vincent’s Home Based Allied Health Service is funded by the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), and focuses on restoring or maintaining people’s independence, improving function and wellbeing to support them to remain living at home. The Grade 2 Podiatrist is responsible for the development and delivery of high quality podiatry care to outpatients, acute and sub-acute inpatients, correctional health facilities, and patients in their own homes. This position is specifically to work at Fitzroy in the High Risk Foot inpatients and inter-disiplinary clinic and
at the St George’s Hospital site in the Allied Health At Home service. Clinical timetabling may rotate and there may be requirements to work across other SVHM sites and programs. This position may require supervision of the Grade 1 Podiatrist and undergraduate podiatry students. This position is accountable to
the Podiatry Department Manager.5. POSITION DUTIESProvide optimal podiatry management to patients through effective assessment, treatment, evaluation, team liaison and discharge planning.To provide high quality clinically appropriate, comprehensive allied health therapy to clients and carers and in their own homes, aligning with the client’s expressed goals of care and healthcare needs, and considering the effects of the patient’s health issues on their life and wellbeing.Demonstrate sound clinical knowledge of evidence based practice, research and new developments.Be an active member of applicable inter-disciplinary and specialist teamsLiaise closely with community service providers and attend relevant meetings to coordinate client careMaintain an appropriate standard of medical record documentation and data collection as per SVHM and local policiesProvide supervision to the Grade 1 Podiatrist in line with professional standards.Primary student supervisor for the undergraduate podiatry students undertaking placement at SVHM.Coordinate and facilitate relevant training/education sessions for SVHM employees as requested.Participate in quality improvement activities in accordance with the department’s Quality Plan and other tasks as directed by senior staff.Develop, implement and promote innovative clinical practice.Actively participate in departmental, organisational and external meetings as required.INCUMBENT OBLIGATIONS

ESSENTIAL REGISTRATION, LICENSE OR QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Recognised tertiary qualification in Podiatry
Current registration with the Podiatry Board of Australia
Current Victorian Drivers LicenceOTHER ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated experience working within acute, sub-acute or community health care settings
High level clinical skills and knowledge, particularly in high risk foot podiatry
Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and evaluating quality improvement
