SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.The purpose of the position is to provide an efficient and effective cleaning and waste services for clinical and non-clinical areas of The Sutherland Hospital by performing a range of cleaning, waste removal &linen distribution duties.Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate.   • Previous cleaning experience in a healthcare facility or commercial facility.
  • Willing to clean rooms that are or were occupied by persons with an infectious condition.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to prioritise and organise workloads.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform duties as outlined in the job demands and understanding of good manual handling capabilities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of universal precautions and waste segregation.
  • Proven ability to work varying shifts with flexible start times as may be required to provide a seven-days roster, day and evening service.
  • Capable of working at heights and knowledge of cleaning procedures & equipment.
