As a Clerical Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the department through high-quality administrative and customer service functions. You’ll manage clerical tasks including data entry, document preparation, records maintenance, and internal/external enquiries, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.This role suits someone who thrives in a team environment, is comfortable handling a variety of administrative duties, and is committed to safety and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities
  • Answer telephone enquiries and complaints from the general public and staff professionally and promptly
  • Process payments and orders as required
  • Perform data entry and word processing tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain and update registers, records, and files
  • Handle general clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, assembling documents, and document distribution
  • Assist with creating reports, composing letters, and preparing Council business papers
  • Support internal communications and assist with disseminating information to staff and stakeholders
  • Promote a positive image of the organisation in all interactions
  • Provide administrative assistance across the City Assets Directorate as needed
  • Adhere to all workplace health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures
About You Essential
  • Minimum 12 months relevant administrative experience
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office and records management systems)
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Flexible and adaptable with working hours
  • Understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles
  • Familiarity with environmental and WHS responsibilities
