This is a Tertiary and level 3 Teaching Hospital with just under 400 beds. The hospital services a population of 200,000+ in a catchment area including urban communities, regional hospitals and remote communities. The hospital is affiliated with Flinders University with an onsite Medical School.Position
A 12-month CICM Transition Year (TY) fellowship is available, offering a focus on echocardiography. The ICU is accredited for 12 months of ICU training, including rural, paediatrics, trauma, and neurosurgery, with approximately 1300 adult and paediatric admissions annually.Located in northern Australia, the unit offers exposure to tropical medicine and Aboriginal health. With newly acquired ECMO capabilities, the fellowship includes hands-on experience managing critically ill patients, participation in Rapid Response and Trauma teams, and opportunities to develop leadership and teamwork skills.The role also includes responsibilities in governance, quality and safety, and education, including involvement in ICU teaching and the Part 1 and Part 2 CICM exam preparation programs.Requirements
