With a strong focus on arts, heritage, and long-term regional planning, the Council is committed to creating thriving, resilient communities.Role OverviewLead the end-to-end delivery of civil infrastructure projects across the region from roads and water to parks and urban upgrades. This permanent role puts you in charge of planning, budgeting, contractor management, and stakeholder coordination to ensure projects are delivered on time and to spec. It’s a hands-on, community impact role within a supportive Local Government team.What's On Offer:

What You’ll Do:Take charge of delivering critical civil works projects by coordinating contractors, managing budgets, and ensuring smooth, safe execution across Council’s infrastructure programs.Project Planning & DeliveryOversee a range of civil infrastructure projects from scoping to completion including roadworks, water infrastructure, and streetscapes. You’ll manage timelines, budgets, and ensure smooth coordination across all stages of delivery.Contract ManagementPrepare and manage contracts and tenders, assess submissions, and lead pre-start meetings. You’ll ensure all contractors are delivering to agreed terms and compliance standards.Site Supervision & Quality ControlMonitor site works, resolve on-ground issues, and ensure construction meets project specs, safety standards, and deadlines. You’ll be Council’s eyes and ears on site.Stakeholder EngagementWork closely with internal teams, service providers, and the public to keep everyone informed, address concerns, and maintain strong community relationships.Reporting & DocumentationTrack project progress, budgets, and risks through clear, timely reporting. You’ll also compile and submit handover documentation, including drawings and manuals.Leadership & CollaborationLead consultants and contractors while supporting the broader Works team. You’ll help foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.What You’ll Bring:
  • Ideally qualification in project management of civil construction or relevant career experience in similar roles.
  • End-to-end project management experience delivering civil works
  • Strong leadership and team coordination, confidently managing contractors, consultants, and internal teams to meet deadlines and deliver outcomes.
  • Excellent contract and procurement knowledge, including preparing tender documents, assessing bids, and ensuring compliance with terms and specifications.
  • Highly developed communication skills, enabling clear engagement with stakeholders, community members, and technical teams.
  • Sound technical and reporting skills, with attention to detail across cost estimating, risk registers, documentation, and handover materials.
  • Working knowledge of safety, compliance, and construction standards, preferably within Local Government or similar regulated environments.
