- Enter specimen label information into Herbarium databases, interpreting and verifying data and current nomenclature.
- Prepare specimens for incorporating into the Herbarium collection.
- Provide regular and timely reports on the collection to the Head of Herbarium and the Registration Officer.
- In collaboration with specialist Curators and the Registration Officer, contribute to the day-to-day care, maintenance and security of the collection and specialist facilities, including the laboratory facility and chemical storage.
- Support taxonomic research and specimen identification by managing the Herbarium laboratory, preparing solvents and reagents, and assisting with routine thin-layer chromatography.
- Contribute to Herbarium projects and activities including collecting expeditions and public engagement programmes.
- Assist the Volunteer Program by providing general guidance on collection curation.
