Beginning in Term 3, this unique role involves teaching students aged 15-18 in small, well-supported class settings, with strong wellbeing initiatives in place.You'll deliver practical, engaging Sport and Recreation programs tailored to students' needs and interests, helping them build skills in teamwork, fitness, and leadership while supporting their re-engagement with learning. - Deliver VET Sport and Recreation Curriculum, focusing on practical skills and industry knowledge.
- Lead physical activities, fitness testing, first aid, event setup, and coaching exercises aligned with real-world sport and recreation roles.
- Embed teamwork, communication, leadership, and customer service skills to prepare students for work in gyms, community programs, or sporting organisations.
- Conduct and record assessments in accordance with VCAA and RTO standards, ensuring students meet all unit outcomes.
- Guide students in organising school-based sporting events, applying risk management and planning principles.
- Use applied, hands-on approaches to engage students, particularly those more responsive to physical and experiential learning.
- Provide career advice and support progression into apprenticeships, traineeships, or further study in sport, fitness, or recreation.
- Model and teach safe practices, including OH&S procedures and emergency response protocols in sport and fitness settings.
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Current VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Secondary PE/Health and or Vet Sport and Recreation in a school setting in Australia/NZ
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
