Beginning in Term 4 and extending into 2026, this unique role involves teaching students aged 15-18 in small, well-supported class settings, with strong wellbeing initiatives in place.You'll deliver practical and engaging music programs with a focus on recording, mixing, and digital production, helping students build creative and technical skills while re-engaging with learning. Facilities include access to music technology, recording equipment, and industry-standard software to support hands-on learning.Working in partnership with the Department of Justice and Community Safety and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, this college supports some of Victoria's most vulnerable yet inspiring young people. - Teach music aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, VM, and VET, focusing on recording, mixing, and production.
- Instruct students in using industry-standard software and equipment for audio recording and editing.
- Develop practical skills in music technology, live sound, and digital production.
- Design and assess creative projects that combine composition, recording, and production.
- Embed music literacy and critical listening into hands-on tasks.
- Prepare students for assessments, performances, and VET competencies.
- Promote collaboration through group projects and shared production tasks.
- Stay current with music technology and industry trends to enhance learning.
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Current VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Secondary Music and have a background/focus/interest in sound recording/music producing
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
