This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious finance leader to step into a pivotal role where you’ll manage end-to-end finance operations, lead a high-performing team, and play a hands-on part in the continued growth of a dynamic, brand-led organisation.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management across the group. You’ll take ownership of the monthly reporting cycle, ensure compliance with statutory and internal requirements, and provide meaningful insights that support commercial decision-making.Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, mentoring, and developing the transactional finance team
- Managing month-end close, variance analysis, and preparation of board packs
- Driving cashflow forecasting and maintaining P&L integrity
- Overseeing AR, AP, payroll, and statutory compliance (including BAS and insurance obligations)
- Supporting external audits with preparation of schedules and addressing queries
- Maintaining accuracy of financial data in ERP systems
- Partnering with leaders across the business to inform strategy and performance
- Producing internal accounting papers in line with IAS/AASB standards
- Identifying and implementing process and systems improvements to enhance efficiency
We’re looking for a proactive, technically strong finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Ideal profile:
- CPA or CA qualified, with 3–5 years in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or Senior Accountant role
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent understanding of reporting standards and compliance
- Skilled in Excel, financial modelling, and ERP systems (experience with Apparel21 or similar highly regarded)
- A natural leader who enjoys mentoring teams and building a high-performance culture
- Confident communicator, comfortable partnering with stakeholders across all levels of the business
- Commercially curious, with a mindset for process improvement and innovation
