Its mission is to accelerate adoption and use of innovative digital services and technologies, with the vision of a healthier future for Australians through connected healthcareAbout the RoleReporting to the EPMO Branch Manager, the Director will oversee the Portfolio & Performance section within the Agency's Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO). They will manage a team of managers and analysts, support portfolio assessments, and enable strategic decision-making through high-level reporting and governance support.Key Duties
Provide strategic and operational oversight of the Portfolio & Performance section.
Develop and maintain frameworks and processes for Agency investments.
Lead collaboration with executives to assess initiatives and make recommendations.
Co-ordinate assessments of initiatives from Government, Board, or Department of Health.
Develop a prioritised project portfolio roadmap aligned with Agency priorities.
Oversee tracking, reporting, expenditure, risks, and issues across all projects.
Improve project management maturity and capability across the Agency.
Represent and negotiate on behalf of the Agency in cross-agency and inter-jurisdictional forums
Essential Attributes / Skills / Experience
Demonstrated experience leading portfolio/program/project management in government or large organisations.
Proven leadership of teams delivering complex and transformational projects.
Strong governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
High-level judgement, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualifications in health or project/program/portfolio management, or equivalent experience.
Certification in Prince2, PMBOK, MSP, Agile or related methodologies highly regarded
