We provide a broad range of services and whole-of-life solutions for various industries, utilizing sustainable and innovative technologies.Job PurposeThe Senior Contracts Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring compliance, governance, and commercial performance of a 20+ year Facilities Management contract on the Cross River Rail.
The role is responsible for monitoring all contractual obligations, drafting and issuing formal notices, managing risk, procurement, subcontract management, variation processes and supporting the delivery team in achieving best-for-project outcomes.
Working closely with the Senior Project Manager, legal and commercial stakeholders, the Senior Contracts Administrator will ensure the contract is administered rigorously, transparently, and in line with head contract and subcontract requirements to protect project margin and minimise risk exposure.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and provide input on subcontract terms and conditions to ensure compliance with head contract requirements.
Support preparation of procurement and subcontracting strategies to align with project delivery needs.
Ensure commercial and legal risks are identified, communicated, and mitigated before contract execution.
Draft, issue, and track contractual notices, claims, variations, extensions of time, and dispute correspondence.
Maintain complete and accurate contractual records, registers, and document control for audit readiness.
Champion compliance with CIMIC Procurement policies, commercial frameworks and the head contract.
Provide training and guidance to project team on contractual obligations and notice requirements.
Identify, monitor and escalate key risks to the Senior Project Manager and Senior Commercial Manager.
Support external and internal audits of contract management processes.
Support the project team with the reviewing and drafting of key subcontracts.
Work with UGL legal team to agree updates to subcontract and purchasing documentation and to agree the implementation of regulation/legal changes.
Assisting the Procurement Officer with requests and assessment of quotations from Suppliers.
Review and management of supply contracts and agreements to ensure sustainable value.
Monitor internal usage demands and align/ modify supply contracts and divisional resources.
Leverage UGL/CIMIC “buying power” across all contracts.
Work with the project teams on the development and implementation of strategies for managing contractual issues associated with procurement.
Highlight any major commercial risks or issues to Management and work with them to ensure the optimum solution.QualificationsRelevant degree or qualifications in Law, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline.
Extensive experience in contract administration or commercial management within major infrastructure, rail, defence, or other safety-critical industries.
Experience in data analysis and financial costings model development.
Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement practices, and commercial risk management.
Experience with long-term PPP / D&C / Maintenance contracts.
