Job Type: Full-TimeJob SummaryThe Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting cloud infrastructure solutions with a primary focus on migrating existing on-premise systems to secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud environments. This role involves close collaboration with architects, project managers, and application teams to ensure successful migration, minimal disruption, and optimal performance in the target cloud environment. The Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer will play a key role in modernising the organisation's technology stack, enhancing operational agility, and improving service delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesCloud Migration Planning & Execution
- Assess current on-premise infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, and applications, to determine migration readiness.
- Design and implement migration strategies to public, private, or hybrid cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Execute lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and/or re-architecting migration approaches based on workload requirements.
- Minimise downtime and service disruption through detailed migration planning and execution.
- Build and configure cloud environments to meet performance, security, and compliance requirements.
- Deploy and manage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates using tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or CloudFormation.
- Integrate networking, identity, and access management solutions between on-prem and cloud environments.
- Implement security best practices, including encryption, identity management, and access controls.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks, GDPR).
- Work with cybersecurity teams to embed security controls into cloud designs and migrations.
- Monitor and optimise cloud resource utilisation to improve performance and reduce operational costs.
- Implement autoscaling, load balancing, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Provide ongoing operational support and performance tuning post-migration.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including developers, application owners, and business stakeholders, to align migration outcomes with business goals.
- Prepare technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Contribute to cloud governance frameworks and best practices.
- 5+ years' experience in infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years in cloud migration projects.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Azure
- Strong knowledge of virtualisation, networking, storage, and operating systems.
- Proficiency in automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or Google Cloud Professional Engineer are highly regarded.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
