The Senior Security Officer is responsible, under the direction of the Security Leads for providing Commercial and Defence Security advice and education to all Business Operations within a nominated area and supporting other Security Officers (SO) nationally, in accordance with Company Security policies, procedures and guidelines.We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and/ or hybrid working.Key responsibilities include:
  • Ensure the practical application of the BAE Systems Australia Security and Defence Security practices and processes.
  • Carry out security tasks and coordinate security services based on relevant policies, standards, procedures, legislation (Defence Industry Security Program – DISP) and best practice of the assigned work stream.
  • Provide Security guidance and advice to CASG SPOs for specific programs.
  • Provide Monthly reports to BAE Systems Australia Program Managers.
  • Be the first point of contact for security advice and incident response.
  • Develop and maintain Security Policies & Plans (SPP).
About YOU
  • Australian Citizen, eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 Defence Security & ITAR clearance required (essential).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Strong experience in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience in security and or a Defence Industry role, including sound knowledge of the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF), and the ability to inform and understand BAE Systems Australia's Company policy and procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding and experience in relation to the implementation of security policy and process.
  • Working knowledge of Cyber Security Policy and standards.
