As part of our Channel and Partner business unit, we're seeking a hands-on and commercially savvy Industry Business Development Manager (IBDM) to lead industrial growth across Queensland.About the Role
This role is designed for someone who understands the industrial landscape from the inside out-ideally with a background as an electrician or similar trade, and experience working in or around electro-intensive industries such as water, mining, manufacturing, and infrastructure.You'll be responsible for identifying and converting strategic opportunities through our partner ecosystem, including EcoXperts, system integrators, OEMs, and electrical contractors. Your focus will be on enabling partners to win and deliver complex industrial projects, while influencing specifications and building long-term customer relationships.About the Team
You'll join the Channel and Partner Queensland State Sales Team, a collaborative group of business developers, technical specialists, and partner managers focused on indirect growth.The team supporting partners and custometr with enablement, technical support, and go-to-market strategies. You'll also engage with offer marketing, pre-sales, and global teams to shape and support winning solutions.Key Responsibilities
- Drive business development across Queensland's industrial segments via Schneider Electric's partner network.
- Identify and qualify opportunities aligned to strategic growth areas (e.g. water, mining, manufacturing).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with end users, consultants, and system integrators.
- Support partners with solution positioning, technical enablement, and opportunity conversion.
- Lead strategic account planning and influence specification through early engagement.
- Collaborate with internal teams to shape offers and ensure alignment with customer needs.
- Represent Schneider Electric at industry events, forums, and partner workshops.
- Trade-qualified background (e.g. electrician or similar) with experience in electro-intensive industries.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within industrial automation, energy, or technology sectors.
- Strong understanding of industrial customer needs and solution selling through indirect channels.
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across technical and commercial levels.
- Excellent communication, strategic planning, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, with a growth mindset and ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with Schneider Electric's products and solutions
