Our client, a large complex state government organisation, are currently seeking an experienced Business Analyst for their newly established Information Governance and Digital Enablement directorate.Given the scale of the department’s asset base and the breadth of information used across the organisation to manage all elements of the infrastructure asset lifecycle, there is a critical need to improve data quality, business processes, and reporting products.The Business Analyst will collaborate with other BAs in the directorate, and will work across our initiatives, supported by a senior project manager and an organisational change manager. The team culture is grounded in collaboration, continuous improvement, and mutual respect. We are adopting Agile and Lean methodologies to guide our work.Business analysis activities in this role are diverse and may include:

Supporting application development (e.g. backlog prioritisation)
Contributing to strategic analysis and planning (e.g. roadmaps)
Leading stakeholder engagement activities (e.g. facilitating workshops).

Although elements such as process documentation and user story development form part of the role, this is not a narrowly defined or technical BA position. Instead, it offers scope to apply a broad range of business analysis skills across both strategic and operational contexts.The qualifications and experience that will be considered when shortlisting candidates include:

Substantial experience (5+ years) as a business analyst, ideally within the Queensland Government.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to express complex ideas in plain English and prepare clear, persuasive documentation. The candidate’s statement of suitability will be assessed as a demonstration of written communication capability.
Agile and Lean experience (highly regarded), and Scrum Master certification (desirable but not essential).
Data analysis capability – while not essential, experience with SQL Server or similar tools would be an advantage in some streams of work.
