This position requires an immediate start with the ability to seamlessly transition into managing an existing portfolio while maintaining continuity of service and stakeholder relationships. The successful candidate will inherit established operations and drive ongoing strategic initiatives to maximize asset value and operational efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesImmediate Transition & Continuity
  • Quickly assume responsibility for existing property portfolio with minimal disruption to operations
  • Review and assess current property performance, tenant relationships, and ongoing initiatives
  • Maintain continuity of established vendor relationships, contracts, and service levels
  • Rapidly build rapport with existing tenants, stakeholders, and team members
  • Identify and address any immediate operational or strategic gaps
Strategic Planning & Asset Management
  • Inherit and refine existing strategic property plans and budgets
  • Continue execution of in-progress value-add initiatives and capital projects
  • Conduct portfolio assessment to identify optimization opportunities
  • Monitor and analyze property performance metrics against established benchmarks
  • Lead property repositioning initiatives and enhancement projects
Operations Management
  • Seamlessly take over day-to-day property operations including maintenance, security, and tenant services
  • Maintain existing vendor relationships while optimizing service contracts
  • Ensure uninterrupted compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Preserve operational excellence while implementing improvements where needed
  • Manage ongoing emergency response and business continuity protocols
Financial Management
  • Assume responsibility for current operating and capital budgets
  • Continue oversight of accounts payable/receivable and rent collection processes
  • Maintain financial reporting schedules and stakeholder communications
  • Review existing contracts and identify cost optimization opportunities
  • Collaborate with accounting teams on established reporting cycles
Stakeholder Management
  • Quickly establish credibility with property owners, investors, and senior management
  • Maintain existing tenant relationships while identifying service enhancement opportunities
  • Preserve team morale and productivity during leadership transition
  • Continue support of ongoing leasing efforts and tenant retention initiatives
Required QualificationsCRITICAL for Backfill Success:
  • Proven ability to quickly integrate into existing operations with minimal learning curve
  • Experience managing immediate transitions in property management roles
  • Strong relationship-building skills to rapidly establish credibility with stakeholders
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work within established systems while driving improvements
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
  • Professional certifications preferred (RPA, CPM, CCIM, or similar)
Experience
  • 15+ years of commercial property management experience
  • 5+ years in senior roles with demonstrated ability to assume leadership quickly
  • Experience with portfolio takeovers or transition management preferred
  • Proven track record of maintaining operations during leadership changes
Technical Skills
  • Immediate proficiency in common property management software (Yardi, MRI, etc.)
  • Quick learner with ability to adapt to existing systems and processes
  • Strong financial analysis and reporting capabilities
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills

  • Previous backfill or transition management experience
  • Experience with similar property types within our portfolio
  • Existing relationships within local commercial real estate market
  • Track record of successful team leadership during organizational change
Position Details
  • Immediate start preferred with flexible onboarding schedule
  • Comprehensive transition support including detailed handover documentation
  • Mentor support available from departing team member (if applicable)
  • Standard professional office environment with property site visits
  • Accelerated performance review at 90 days to ensure successful integration
