As a trusted advisor and internal consultant, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing strong partnerships with business areas to understand operational needs and deliver tailored HR solutions.
- Providing high-level, evidence-based advice on employee relations, case management, performance issues, workforce planning, and change management.
- Interpreting and applying public sector legislation, directives, industrial instruments, and policies.
- Managing and contributing to strategic people projects and the development/review of HR policies and procedures.
- Representing the department in external industrial forums and preparing expert documentation for commissions and tribunals.
- Supporting workforce planning efforts and contributing to leadership development and succession initiatives.
- Mentoring others on the team and contributing to an inclusive, safe, and high-performing workplace culture.
- Knowledge of employment and industrial relations in the Queensland public sector.
- Experience in managing complex and sensitive HR matters with sound judgement and discretion.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
- An understanding of workforce data and how to apply insights to HR strategy.
- A commitment to ethical practice, cultural capability, and staff wellbeing.
