This is a fixed term, full-time position commencing ASAP up until 31 December 2026Western Australian Department of Education has entered into an agreement with the Australian Government Department of Education, to develop and deliver the Scaling Up Success in Remote Schools Program. Through this program, the Regional Learning Initiative will work to expand the Kimberley Schools Project to selected schools in the Goldfields and Midwest Education Regions. In 2026, the Program is being expanded into the Pilbara Education Region.The project has two key components:
Targeted teaching – evidence-based teaching strategies, quality materials and frequent measurement of achievement.
Community engagement – development with the community of extended learning programs and related initiatives. Support includes coaching and advice for school leaders and teachers around building and sustaining positive school-community partnerships.
The RoleGoldfields Education Regional Office is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Engagement Officer – Regional Learning Initiatives.If successful, you will work within the Scaling up Success team to provide strategic advice to schools on developing and sustaining community engagement procedures to enhance positive community–school relationships. It will be your responsibility to support and lead the effective implementation of procedures and processes in schools to ensure non-attending and alienated students participate and are engaged in educational programs.The Engagement Officer will provide strategic advice and support to principals, school staff and the project team in the implementation of school attendance strategies and policy and legislative compliance. Within this role the successful applicant will implement and manage system level initiatives relating to student and community engagement at regional level.This role facilitates professional learning and the sharing of best practice within the Regional School Network.
