- Ensuring that the overall management and strategic focus of activities, investigations or projects is in line with the Compliance and Enforcement Policy, plans and directions.
- Developing, implementing and reviewing plans for the conduct of investigations and/or projects, including appropriate allocation of resources and monitoring of expenditure. Identifying suitable resolutions for identified actions, changing market behaviours, activities and issues and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Preparing (and/or reviewing as appropriate) internal and external documents including staff papers, notices, undertakings, correspondence, reports, minutes, briefs, reports and media releases.
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships and professional networks with internal and external stakeholders.
- Providing advice on trends and patterns, industry and consumer behaviour, and impacts of broader environmental change, as well as contributing to the development of ACCC positions on legislative and policy reform.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (CCA) (or the ability to acquire this knowledge), including the ability to apply consumer protection provisions of the CCA, or demonstrated ability to undertake similar work and an ability to quickly acquire technical expertise.
- Demonstrated experience in managing investigations and/or projects including efficient and effective allocation of resources, achievement of standards and delivery of outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake objective, systematic analysis to draw accurate conclusions and support evidence-based decision making.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical information to a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated experience leading a team in a fast-paced and large complex people centred-organisation, with the ability to guide and develop staff.
