Job Description:Are you a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant seeking a dynamic role within the legal industry? We are recruiting for an experienced accountant to join a prestigious law firm based in the heart of Sydney's Central Business District. This permanent role offers hybrid working flexibility, allowing you to balance time in the office and remote work while being part of a thriving and forward-thinking organization.Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will be tasked with:
  • Financial Accounting: Leading general ledger reconciliations, handling month-end and year-end financial closing processes, and ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations.
  • Financial Reporting: Preparing and analyzing financial statements while offering insight for better decision-making.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Supporting the broader finance team to create and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Tax Compliance: Managing GST, BAS, and other taxation requirements for the legal practice.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to enhance financial systems and practices to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Key Skills and Attributes
  • Licensure/education in accounting, such as CA or CPA qualification (or near completion).
  • Proven experience in financial accounting, ideally within professional services or the legal sector.
  • Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; experience with legal case management software is a bonus.
  • A customer-service mindset coupled with strong communication capabilities to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
