The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking a dedicated and organised Business & Contracts Support Officer to join the People and Organisational Development (POD) division on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting to the Business Manager, this role is ideal for a professional with strong administrative capabilities, experience in maintaining effective office systems, and an understanding of low value procurement. The successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the division, supporting both administrative and procurement-related activities.Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing administrative support to the POD division, including high-level executive assistance to the Executive Director when required, and helping coordinate meetings, workshops and internal events.
  • Developing and maintaining administrative systems, work instructions, and process documentation to enhance efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives across the division.
  • Assisting with procurement and contract administration, including supporting low value purchasing activities, maintaining accurate procurement records, and contributing to compliance with PTA and Government procurement guidelines.
  • Participating in business process improvement activities, including contributing to special projects, representing the division in working groups, and supporting operational performance reporting.
  • Supporting records and document management, including formatting, version control, and publication of documents in line with PTA’s electronic document management systems.

  • Demonstrated experience in administration practices, procedures, and systems, with an understanding of procurement and contract administration functions that are applicable to the public sector.
  • Sound organisational and planning skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision, manage competing deadlines and demands.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders and build strong internal and external partnerships.
  • Well-developed skills in research and problem-solving, with the capacity to identify trends and issues and make informed recommendations to support continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively as a key support person within a team environment with demonstrated customer focus and commitment to quality service.
