The individual will be either an ITSM Functional Consultant or an IT Process Consultant. Their experience typically begins with Incident Management (MIM/CIM), Change Management, or Request Management. Over time, they evolve into a consultant role focused on business consulting including specific areas such as SACM / CMDB Consultant, ITSM Consultant (Incident, change, request, other modules expertise) which includes areas such as audits and compliance with ISO standards. We are looking for a SACM Consultant.Don’t share profiles on IT Asset Management / Hardware Asset Management profiles, which are easily available.Location: Onsite in Adelaide ONLYMaximum Rate to Hexaware: Contractor rate of up to AUD 40 per hour maximumDuration: 10 months and likely to extendResponse Closure: 28th/29th AugustRequirements OverviewAdelaide based client is seeking an IT Asset Analyst to work closely with subject matter experts, vendors, and colleagues to support the effective lifecycle management of the IT assets. This role focuses on maintaining accurate asset records, monitoring asset utilisation, and ensuring compliance with university policies and licensing agreements. You will be responsible for tracking and updating asset information in the IT Service Management platform (ServiceNow), co-ordinating asset procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement activities. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills to identify discrepancies or optimisation opportunities, and the ability to investigate and resolve asset-related issues. They will collaborate with technical teams to ensure assets are correctly assigned, configured, and supported, escalating complex issues to relevant technology owners when required. Due to the Merger activity, customer is seeking additional resource the IT Asset Management function to support the large-scale asset reconciliation, procurement, and deployment activities required. The role will operate during key operational periods between 8 am–6 pm weekdays, ensuring accurate asset data, supporting technology changes, and contributing to the delivery of a seamless IT experience for customer staff, students, and affiliates. We are looking for candidates who can deliver exceptional customer service, work under pressure to meet deadlines, and contribute to building an accurate, efficient, and compliant asset management capability for the client.Resource will be expected to participate in on-site days as required by the client.Key Skills
- IT Asset Management (ITAM) principles — lifecycle management from procurement to retirement.
- Service Management platforms — ServiceNow Asset & Configuration Management modules.
- Inventory and database management — maintaining accurate records of hardware and software assets.
- Hardware knowledge — desktops, laptops, peripherals, mobile devices, networking equipment.
- Software licensing management — compliance tracking, entitlement reconciliation, and vendor audits.
- Data analysis and reporting — producing asset reports, dashboards, and utilisation insights.
- Procurement processes — requisition, purchase order tracking, vendor liaison.
- Configuration Management Database (CMDB) — understanding relationships between assets, services, and users.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business, Procurement, or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of relevant training and professional experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of IT Asset Management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using Service Management systems (e.g., ServiceNow) for asset and configuration management.
- ITIL® Foundation certification (particularly ITIL Asset & Configuration Management concepts).
- Certification in IT Asset Management (e.g., IAITAM Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) or Software Asset Management (CSAM)).
- Vendor-specific certifications in ServiceNow or other asset management platforms.
- Training or certification in procurement, contract management, or supply chain management.
- Experience with Microsoft licensing and software compliance frameworks.
- Previous experience in IT asset management, procurement, or IT operations within a medium to large organisation.
- Experience in university, government, or enterprise IT environments (desirable).
- Demonstrated ability to work with vendors and service providers to manage supply chains and contracts.
- Hands-on experience with asset audits and reconciliation processes.
- Exposure to technology refresh projects, hardware rollouts, or software upgrade programs.
- Experience applying ITIL processes in asset and configuration management.
