
Finance Director – Freight Forwarding

- Monitor financial performance and profitability by service lines (e.g. air, ocean, LCL, FCL).
- Review, develop and implement standards, procedures, internal controls, and processes in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Support pricing, margin optimisation, and ROI analyses for freight forwarding services
- Preparation of monthly financial and management accounts
- Oversee working capital including receivables, payables, and cash flow optimization
- Facilitate freight forwarding-specific considerations like banking arrangements, pre-payments, currency hedging, or trade-related credit.
- Work closely with operations to understand shipment billing, carrier costs, insurance, consolidation/deconsolidation, and customs charges.
- Lead finance transformation initiatives (ERP, automation, BI dashboards, analytics tools).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Ops, Sales, Customs, Commercial teams for forecasting, cost control, and pricing discussions.
- Oversee quarterly forecast and yearly budgeting processes
- Lead and mentor finance professionals, promoting performance and succession.
- Chartered Certified Accountant - ACCA certified or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with at least 7-10 years' experience in finance, preferably within multinational companies.
- Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and business partnering skills.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS, financial standards, and local regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in ERP systems (Oracle Fusion preferred).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially minded with strong business acumen.
- Hands-on, analytical, and detail-oriented; thrives under pressure.
- Proven leadership with experience developing high-performing teams.
