Job DescriptionThe RoleAre you passionate about protecting vulnerable individuals and ensuring safe environments? We are seeking a Safeguarding Officer to play a key role in safeguarding efforts across St Vincent de Paul Society QLD.As the Safeguarding Officer, you will help design and deliver evidence-based safeguarding programs that promote safety, dignity, and well-being across our community. You will advise on Safeguarding Learning Modules, ensuring content is practical and aligned with our policy framework.Working closely with internal teams, you will embed best-practice approaches in line with Queensland's Child Safe Standards and the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards. With new legislation on the horizon, this is a pivotal moment to shape a culture of safety, trust, and engagement and make a lasting impact alongside a passionate, purpose-driven team.This is a Permanent, Full-time (38 hours per week) position based in our State Administration Office in South Brisbane.Desired Skills and ExperienceAbout YouTo be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria:
Relevant qualification in Social Work, or similar qualification related to safeguarding and working with children and adults-at-risk
5 years' experience in similar or related role, managing safeguarding cases or incidents.
Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, frameworks, and statutory guidance.
Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and National Police Check
Commitment to the values and mission of the Society
Willingness to learn and support a culture of safety and respect
Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society.
