Evening work, including leading shifts on weekends, is a requirement of the role. Staff are provided with training, reflective supervision, and support to ensure the delivery of a high quality non clinical suicide prevention program. Staff are supported to use their knowledge and skills to facilitate education to other staff and community members about suicide prevention.Additional Information and BenefitsAn eligibility list may be created for future Temporary Part Time positionsUp to 12 allocated days off each year (for full-time employees) in addition to annual leave.that reduce your taxable income and increase your take-home pay! Up to $9K for living expenses and $2.6K meal & entertainment & Novated Leasing.Discounted gym memberships with aEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees and family members.Discounted Private Health Insurance.Selection Criteria: * Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the Health Professionals (State) Award for Social Work & Occupational Therapy; or qualifications in Psychology with a minimum four year degree with a major in psychology and registration with the Psychologists Board of Australia; Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) to practice as a Registered Nurse and a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience in a mental health specialty, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
- Extensive post graduate experience in delivery of suicide prevention support services with focus on situational distress, recovery orientated service provision, trauma informed care, safety planning and managing risk.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including providing leadership to Suicide Prevention Workers (peer & clinical) and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including clinical services throughout all organisational levels to enhance pathways and transfer between care settings.
- Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence in suicide prevention, with the capacity to provide clinical supervision to other staff.
- The ability to initiate, lead, complete co-design quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
- Strong computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office and experience with relevant Health related computer programs.
