About the roleWe are seeking a qualified Men’s Behaviour Change Practitioner to provide high quality, all of family domestic violence response to support safety, accountability, recovery and healing from the impacts of domestic & family violence (DFV). The main focus of this role is on behaviour change responses for men who use violence and coercive control and those affected by these behaviours. The successful incumbent will be involved in group work facilitation.This is casual position, working, 5 hours per week out of our Tuggerah Family Centre supporting our Men & Families Team.Key responsibilities:
  • Provide Men’s Behaviour Change interventions (in-person) including assessment and case coordination to meet NSW practice standards.
  • Provide timely, trauma and DFV informed progress interviews, contracting and exit planning to ensure safety and accountability.
  • Provision of various group work facilitation to men.
  • Ensure safety standards are maintained for self and all hazards and incidents are reported within appropriate timeframes.
  • Ensure administrative and reporting responsibilities are maintained.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Tertiary qualification in Counselling, Social Work, Welfare, Psychology, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Demonstrated experience in group work facilitation
  • Relevant registrations (or working towards) with peak bodies such as ACA, PACFA, AASW. or APHRA.
  • Proven and demonstrated knowledge and experience of working with families experiencing DV within the dynamics of family systems to transition from trauma to safety and recovery.
  • Experience in responding to men who have used violence
  • Ability to demonstrate networking and advocacy skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage crisis or safety situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • A valid NSW Driveru0027s Licence and insured vehicle.
