We keep communities connected.This role is accountable for driving uplift in asset reliability and performance through data-led decision-making and structured improvement initiatives for motorway assets. You’ll lead the management and continuous enhancement of the asset management system, aligning to ISO 55001 by standardising data capture, interrogating defect and condition trends, and embedding fit-for-purpose asset strategies into the Code of Maintenance Standards (COMS). A key focus of this role is leading the development of forward works programs and maintenance task selection that optimise cost, risk and performance outcomes, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the network.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the review, update, and application of the Code of Maintenance Standards (COMS), ensuring compliance with the O&M Deed and integration into inspection practices.
  • Apply Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) principles to review and update maintenance task selection, frequency, and intervention levels as part of the COMS update process.
  • Configure and manage data collection fields within the Asset Management System to ensure consistency in defect classification, condition scoring, and inspection reporting.
  • Analyse inspection and condition data (via JAMS and Power BI) to identify asset performance trends, root causes of recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and recommend forward works programs (yearly and rolling five-year) based on condition trends, asset strategies, and lifecycle models.
  • Contribute to the development and review of asset strategies, lifecycle models, and refurbishment schedules in line with Section 10 handover requirements.
  • Support the preparation of the Annual Asset Condition Assessment Report by providing analytical insights and trend assessments.
  • Provide assurance on the accuracy and completeness of asset data and develop quality control processes for inspection and defect management outputs.
  • Collaborate with inspectors, engineers, and contractors to ensure field data aligns with asset strategy objectives.
  • Updating the Asset Register (inventory accuracy, new assets, decommissioned assets).
About You
  • 2+ years’ experience in asset management or reliability engineering within transport, infrastructure, or utilities
  • Degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical), Data Science, Asset Management, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in RCM, condition assessment, defect management, reliability analysis, and forward works planning.
  • Management and configuration in asset management software systems such as Maximo, Confirm Connect or alike
