An excellent opportunity exists for a self-motivated individual to manage cross-jurisdictional projects, enhancing forensic science capabilities in Australia and New Zealand.ABOUT THE ROLEThe National Institute of Forensic Science is a directorate within the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency. Our Strategic Intent is to deliver high-quality and innovative products, services, and advice to enhance the capability, efficiency, and reliability of the forensic sciences for police, justice, and the community.The advertised role supports the Director NIFS in delivering the Annual Plan by playing varying roles in different project teams. In addition, the role may require the successful applicant to manage cross-jurisdictional projects, facilitate workshops and meetings, and represent ANZPAA NIFS at external forums.The position is based in the Melbourne CBD for a one-year fixed term with the possibility of extension and ongoing employment. The role may require interstate travel. Short-term secondments may be considered.ABOUT YOUWe are looking for a self-driven, passionate, and flexible individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills.You will have experience working in forensic science and/or law enforcement, ideally understanding how forensic science impacts with the evolving nature of policing in Australia and New Zealand.You will excel in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment where no two days are the same. A relevant degree or demonstrated experience (for example, Forensic Science or Science)
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen or New Zealand Citizen (who have unrestricted rights to employment in Australia) and be able to obtain and maintain a national security clearance.
The preferred candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment security checks, which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
