A sovereign Australian technology provider delivering next generation cloud and AI infrastructure. They are rolling out a national network of high performance, sovereign AI facilities to support enterprise, critical infrastructure, Defence, and the National Intelligence Community (NIC).The Role
The CISO will define and execute enterprise security strategy, drive compliance and accreditation (ISM, PSPF, DISP, IRAP, ISO), and serve as the security authority for Defence and the NIC community. Reporting directly to the CEO and engaging with the board, this is a foundation role at a pivotal growth stage.Key ResponsibilitiesGovernance & Compliance: Lead frameworks including ISM, PSPF, ASD Essential Eight, DISP, IRAP.Technical Security Leadership: Oversee secure architecture across AI/ML environments, air gapped Defence networks, and sovereign cloud.Team & Stakeholder Leadership: Build a dedicated security function, mentor cleared engineers, and represent the company with Defence/NIC clients.About YouTSPV clearance with 15+ years IT/cybersecurity experience, including senior leadership roles.Fluent understanding of ISM, PSPF, DISP, ASD Essential Eight, ISO 27001, and related standards.Background in sovereign, cloud, or AI/HPC environments desirable.Well developed Leadership skills - experience in builing teams.PracticalitiesSydney or Canberra base with regular travel to Canberra.Flexible hybrid work with occasional interstate/overseas requirements.Competitive Salary.
