Horse Trainer – Full-timeYulong is seeking a highly motivated and adaptive individual to join our growing team as a full-time Horse Trainer/Rider Breaker.Yulong is comprised of three farms in Victoria, all of which are an easy drive to Melbourne. The breeding side of the operation, Yulong Stud and Yulong Farm, are located in the beautiful wine region of Nagambie. Whilst the Spelling Farm, Yulong Park, located in Bayles, is a short drive to the Mornington Peninsula and Yulong Pre-Training Centre, located at Whiteheads Creek.Yulong is a rapidly expanding operation which currently has 700 broodmares, 350 foals, 11 stallions and over 200 horses in training.Horse Trainer/Rider -BreakerDuties will include:

able to start and educate horses for the first and subsequent times
pre-train the young horses for a racing career
able to educate horses in the barriers
able to ride multiple horses per morning with particular emphasis on riding pace work and jump outs

The salary will be above award – in the range of $75,000 to $80,000 per annum depending upon the skill set and level of responsibility.Accommodation maybe offered on the farm.Essential Skills:All applicants must have a minimum of 3-years full time professional experience in the role or a relevant qualification and at least 2 years full time professional experience in the role.In addition, the following will be required:

Proven ability to ride and pre-train young horses
Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred breeding
Proven ability to train and educate horses
Proven as reliable workers, with excellent horsemanship skills
Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
