Well… you might just be in the right place!We're looking for a Events & Marketing Specialist to join Lightspeed's APAC Marketing team. You'll be responsible for supporting the execution of strategic events and local initiatives with the aim of enhancing the brand's reputation, and acquiring or nurturing leads and customers.Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, APAC and working closely with a cross-functional team of marketing managers, creatives, content specialists and growth marketers, this position will: determine the events strategy for the vibrant retail and hospitality verticals; establish the events roadmap - comprising a mix of large-scale trade shows and smaller scale activations; organise and execute events - working closely with internal and external stakeholders; and establish best practices when it comes to event selection, execution and success measurement.What you'll be doing:
  • Determining the right events for Lightspeed to attend or organise based on brand and market fit, projected ROI and sales opportunities
  • Bringing innovative and creative ideas for physical brand activations to the table
  • Executing a variety of events - ranging from large-scale trade shows to small, intimate dinners - each with varying objectives but clear success measures
  • Communicating and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders effectively, to ensure smooth coordination and execution of events
  • Collaborating with our PR team to secure coverage for events
  • Ensuring event budgets are adhered to, while factoring in unforeseen expenses
  • Adhering to best practice marketing processes within the organisation and educating the wider team about them (including the production of guidelines and playbooks)
  • Working with members of the go-to-market team to craft and execute compelling post-event follow up sequences
  • Delivering detailed reports on the success of events, looking at each state of the sales funnel, to be shared with the broader go-to-market team
  • Contributing to broader marketing campaigns and company events
  • Supporting general marketing activities as required

  • Contributing as part of the wider team to achieve organisational objectives even if this means doing things that aren't strictly within the scope of your role.
What you need to bring:We're looking for a intermediate candidate who has experience with the following:
  • Past experience working in marketing, particularly in Events
  • Previous background in SaaS marketing, preferably with experience in either consumer apps / technologies, early stage startups, or with exposure to small business audiences
  • Proven track record of hands-on experience in events marketing - ideally across a range of event formats
  • Top class written and oral communication skills, with a knack for negotiation
  • Previous experience working with Sales teams
  • Tertiary qualification in events management (recommended, but not necessary)
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, and analytical tools (recommended, but not necessary)
