This is a unique opportunity to embed climate reporting into the heart of financial disclosures.Your new roleAs the Financial Reporting Manager - Climate, you will work closely with the Head of Group Statutory Reporting & Accounting Policy and Head of Climate to develop robust climate-related financial reporting processes. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring QBE meet the mandatory standards now in effect while also supporting the production of high-quality, transparent and strategically aligned climate-related financial disclosures.Provide technical input and develop supporting technical papers on the application of measurement and reporting requirements in compliance with AASB S2 with a specific focus on:metrics and targetsscenario analysisclimate resilience assessmentfinancial impacts and exposureSupport the preparation of the Group climate-related financial disclosuresEnsure robust documentation of processes and identification of controls to support climate related financial disclosuresEnsure all policies, procedures, and systems are thoroughly documented, regularly updated, and compliant with regulatory requirementsActively mentor team members to support their professional growth and development.Provide expert support and challenge for finance activities and offering accounting advice for any business cases developed to support climate transition planBuild and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across the Group Head Office including Finance, Sustainability, Risk, and Underwriting teams.About youOur ideal candidate will have extensive financial reporting and accounting experience, preferably from an Insurance or Banking background. You will have a keen interest in Climate specific reporting, and any prior experience within this sector would be highly advantageous.Excellent technical accounting knowledge – AGAAP/IFRS with a focus on standards relevant to QBE’s business.Strong technical skills enabling analysis of requirements, and commercial and practical application.Strong project management and planning capabilitiesProven experience of dealing with people at all levels in the organisation, strong stakeholder management experience and the ability to negotiate, persuade and influence within a global team.About QBEWe can never really predict what’s around the corner, but at QBE we’re asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future – helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.
