- lead the delivery of a growing major rail program and has accountability for a state-wide program of major rail projects to deliver on the Queensland government's priorities;
- ensures that rail project delivery teams work collaboratively and engage with each other and with Queensland Rail and Industry so as to deliver a consistent customer experience that meets emerging customer expectations in a timely manner; and
- allows the department to build its rail-specific capabilities into the future workforce, maximising alignment between this new capability and existing rail branches to deliver programs.
- Liaise with key stakeholders to understand resourcing needs.
- Develop new, and update existing, role descriptions.
- Have experience in recruitment and selection within the public sector
- Apply HR policies and frameworks in achieving business outcomes.
- Prepare HR related correspondence, briefs, reports and resource requests to a high standard.
- Support the Principal HR Advisor as required to build and mature HR service delivery across the branch.
- Recent Queensland Government experience
- Able to work as an independent HR advisor
- Have experience in recruitment and selection within the public sector
- Demonstrate an understanding of contemporary human resource management practices as well as a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, industrial agreements, policies and procedures
