We are seeking an HR Advisor to join Queensland's rail infrastructure delivery office. The passenger rail network is undergoing significant transformation in response to unprecedented growth and emerging demands. In the next decade, various large rail infrastructure investment projects and system enhancements will be delivered which will change the way people move. To ensure a co-ordinated approach in the delivery of this large rail infrastructure pipeline, the Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office has been established to:
  • lead the delivery of a growing major rail program and has accountability for a state-wide program of major rail projects to deliver on the Queensland government's priorities;
  • ensures that rail project delivery teams work collaboratively and engage with each other and with Queensland Rail and Industry so as to deliver a consistent customer experience that meets emerging customer expectations in a timely manner; and
  • allows the department to build its rail-specific capabilities into the future workforce, maximising alignment between this new capability and existing rail branches to deliver programs.
Key responsibilities
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to understand resourcing needs.
  • Develop new, and update existing, role descriptions.
  • Have experience in recruitment and selection within the public sector
  • Apply HR policies and frameworks in achieving business outcomes.
  • Prepare HR related correspondence, briefs, reports and resource requests to a high standard.
  • Support the Principal HR Advisor as required to build and mature HR service delivery across the branch.
About you Requirements of the role Must have:
  • Recent Queensland Government experience
  • Able to work as an independent HR advisor
  • Have experience in recruitment and selection within the public sector
  • Demonstrate an understanding of contemporary human resource management practices as well as a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, industrial agreements, policies and procedures
