About us...Southport Sharks is one of the largest clubs in Queensland. Our facility offers a multi-purpose events centre, restaurants, a café, four bars, 24/7 fitness centre, kids club, gaming facilities and weekly entertainment, plus Mantra at Sharks Hotel.About the Role …We are seeking a Grounds Attendant who will enjoy the challenge of developing, nurturing and maintaining the gardens surrounding the Southport Sharks.The successful candidate must be willing to work weekends.Key responsibilities include:

General garden maintenance, including watering, fertilising and landscaping
Mowing lawn areas, whipper-snipping lawn edges, and maintaining all hedges around the venue, including the football grounds
Maintain the cleanliness of all outdoor areas
General maintenance and minor repairs to grounds equipment
Assisting Maintenance with additional duties in other Club areas as required

About you…As someone with previous experience in garden and lawn maintenance, you will possess an eye for detail to ensure that the external areas of the club are presented immaculately at all times. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following:

At least 2 years experience in a similar role
A current manual drivers licence
White Card
Preferable to have a Chainsaw Ticket
Be physically fit and enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to work weekends if required
A high level of understanding of Workplace Health and Safety
