Educational leadership is a key responsibility, involving the active development and promotion of the school's values, ethos, and priorities. The Deputy Principal champions a collaborative approach, encouraging not only staff but also volunteers and community members to actively share ownership of the school's vision and goals. This collaborative ethos extends to change management, where the Deputy Principal strategically facilitates the acceptance of change and identifies opportunities for improved service delivery.Walliston PS is seeking a dynamic and dedicated educational leader to join our team as Deputy Principal. This pivotal role involves shaping the learning culture of the school with a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy development, while actively promoting the school’s values, ethos, and strategic priorities. The successful applicant will ideally provide educational leadership focused on improving student outcomes and will support the principal in the development and implementation of the school’s Strategic and Operational Plans. As an instructional leader, the Deputy Principal should foster the professional growth of staff and lead whole-school initiatives aligned with the school’s strategic plan. These initiatives include effective data analysis and interpretation, curriculum differentiation, and promoting teacher self-reflection and professional learning.A deep understanding of the Western Australian curriculum and a commitment to current, evidence-based teaching practices is highly regarded, as the successful applicant will have a teaching load and play a pivotal role in driving whole-school improvement. We are looking for a leader with experience as an instructional coach, building staff efficacy around an instructional model, and leading curriculum delivery through data analysis and evidence-based practice.In addition, the Deputy Principal will lead student services and case management processes, ensuring coordinated and proactive support for students. This may include working collaboratively with staff and families, coaching colleagues, providing constructive feedback, and guiding the implementation of practices that support both academic achievement and social–emotional wellbeing.
