Overview of the roleThis is a fantastic time to be joining Suncorp as the industry goes through significant change. As a result, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Business Analyst to support the establishment and ongoing operations of our new FinOps Centre of Excellence (CoE). This role will play a key part in driving cloud financial accountability and operational efficiency across the organisation.You will have the opportunity to join our large Analysis Chapter that supports a variety of medium to large scale programs across the Suncorp Group. The Chapter consists of around 280 like-minded analysts, where ideas and best practice are shared via masterclasses and knowledge sharing. You will support projects being delivered in a continuous delivery model (Agile) and supporting the platform.Suncorp is proud of our fantastic culture where you will be supported in your career development.What you'll do:

Build strong relationships through engagement with colleagues, and stakeholders across Business and Technology.
Document current and future state processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Use information gathering techniques to proactively discover requirements and synthesise information accurately, completely, and coherently.
Work collaboratively with delivery teams and business stakeholders to gather, validate and document business requirements and develop recommendations and solutions that meet business and customer needs.
Raise, and support mitigation and resolution of, risks and issues using established tools and frameworks were applicable.
Create detailed user stories (in JIRA) to support delivery.
Mentor/train team members; participate and contribute to business analyst chapter and/or forums providing insights and thought leadership
Suncorp offers a hybrid way of working where you will be expected to be in the office approx. 2 days per week.

What you'll bring:

FinOps Knowledge: Experience or certification in FinOps practices is highly desirable
Cloud & Container Technologies: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and/or containerisation technologies
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles and experience working in finance-related roles or environments.
Minimum 5 years Business Analysis experience in a project/delivery orientated role, from a large organisation.
Minimum 3 years' Agile, Lean and waterfall experience including knowledge of Agile practices, workshops, and Agile ceremonies facilitation.
Must be able to translate and understand business and technical requirements and provide appropriate alternatives and solutions to meet those requirements.
Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management and influencing skills including experience in dealing with various stakeholders.
Strong team player with a positive attitude, willingness to learn and desire to make a difference.
Must be able to manage multiple complex initiatives with competing deadlines.
