  • You will have the unique role of being responsible for the managing the building services across both Liverpool and Fairfield Hospitals
  • Your role will be managing various maintenance programs and projects across these hospitals, and across the district as required.
  • You will be working with our highly skilled trades team across the SWSLHD.
What You'll Be Doing
The Group Building Engineer controls the day to day running of the building services section at each facility across the district, with the prime function to ensure the up-to-date maintenance and integrity of the fabric of all buildings covered within the responsibility of the Engineering Department.This also includes: the efficient implementation of reactive/corrective, preventative, and statutory maintenance programmes; supervision of refurbishment works; oversight of any works (by engineering or otherwise) which may change or impact upon the fabric of the physical infrastructure of a facility or service; manage/control/supervise all building related trades; prompt actioning of all works orders; ensuring full & current compliance, & work health safety, of all facilities & building-related processes.The level of responsibility and accountability for the position is proportional to the size, distribution and complexity of the portfolio allocated.Where You'll Be Working

View our for information on how to respond to criteria and . * Tertiary qualifications in Building / Construction related industry or extensive building and construction industry experience with related trade qualifications / licence(s) and possession of a SafeWork approved White Card (or general construction induction card) is required.Demonstrated project management capability for building works and contract management. This includes the identification, scope of work development, cost estimation & control, procurement (within NSW Govt policies & procedures) and supervision of internal and external building refurbishments & projects, and the tight planning / control of all associated labour and materials.
  • Demonstrated experience in the management and operation of planned or corrective maintenance programming in large complex healthcare, institutional or critical industrial environment.
Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and operation of Hydraulic systems and compliance with regulatory requirements, safe work practices, standards and codes of practice.
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
