This position is located across NSW, however linked to the General Medicine department at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick.What you'll be doingSydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, part of the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network, is seeking the services of a paediatrician to provide short periods of leave relief to rural paediatricians across NSW. Just over half of the time will be spent in rural NSW, with the remainder of the time linked with the General Paediatric Department of the successful applicant's choice of one of the Children's Hospitals in NSW. The “back to base” time is flexible and can be negotiated to complement the successful applicant's interests and skills and support their professional development.This is a 0.5 FTE temporary Staff Specialist position, for two years with the option to extend for a further two years pending performance review.Successful applicants will provide excellent clinical services to children and their families as part of a multi-disciplinary team.They will participate in review and improvement activities, as well as training and education of staff. Successful applicants may be offered an honorary conjoint appointment at the relevant University for the duration of the position. For Randwick this will be with the University of New South Wales in the School of Women's and Children's Health.

- Willingness and ability to travel to perform relieving roles in rural NSW as well as to perform educational roles in metropolitan and rural NSW.
- Ability to be flexible in the workplace to adapt to different clinical settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
- Valid NSW drivers licence
