Known for its focus on innovation, collaboration, and sustainability, it offers long-term career opportunities in a highly professional and supportive environment.Job DescriptionThe Senior Industrial Relations (IR) Partner is responsible for leading all Industrial and Employee Relations (IR/ER) matters across Airbus Pacific (Australia & New Zealand). The position holder will be responsible for EnterpriseBargaining Agreement (EBA) negotiations and interpretations; representing the organisation against industrial action, Fair Work hearings; disciplinary measures; as well as collective and individual agreement matters.
Reporting directly to the VP HR & Workplace, the Senior IR Partner works in accordance and compliance with all processes, systems and tools set by the VP HR & Workplace to enable service delivery excellence whilst ensuring strict compliance with company and regulatory requirements in all areas of Employee Relations and Industrial Relations.Primary ResponsibilitiesActing as the key Industrial Relations lead for all IR/ER Matters across Airbus Pacific, the position holder will be primarily responsible for leading a diverse range of cases and key IR/ER activities whilst supporting key business stakeholders in management of IR/ER cases. Additionally, the position holder will be responsible for supporting people leaders with workplace investigations and other case management, providing a high level of advice on people matters.Day to day responsibilities will include:
  • Review and maintain the AAP IR Framework in collaboration with the VP HR & Workplace
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations though regular monitoring changes in labour laws, regulations and employed related legislation
  • Provide timely professional and accurate advice on the interpretation and application of industrial, and other relevant legislation frameworks to both business leaders and supporting the Senior HR Business Partners
  • Provide regular updates/briefings to both Business Leaders and HR Operational team on any key legislative changes
  • Present and engage in all Disciplinary Committee matters, where required.
  • Empower and support the HR Operational team to achieve their KPIs and service targets surrounding ER/IR matters
  • Commitment to maintaining and promoting a safe work environment
  • Complying with all national, legal, and parent organisation regulations, procedures and expectations including the Code of Conduct
The Senior Industrial relations Partner will additionally be responsible for contributing and strengthening the understanding of IR processes throughout the business, ensuring accountability by all in the organisation.Additional responsibilities of the Senior IR Partner also include;
  • Regularly review and update organisational policy and procedures (where required) to ensure consistent and compliant application
  • Support key People projects
  • Contribute to the performance of the HR & Workplace function through effective case management, and a proactive understanding of organisational needs
  • Contribute to AAP strategy
  • Attend relevant workshops I which Management Objectives (MBOs) are established
  • Contribute to achievement of individual and team MBOs
The Successful Applicant
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Industrial Relations, Employee Relations, Legal or similar
  • Experience in a HRBP or equivalent role
  • Detailed knowledge of current employment legislation, keeping up to date with emerging issues and changes
  • Experience in implementing and/or maintaining IR framework
  • Experience in negotiating EBAs across a complex matrix structured business
  • Experience in people management and leading a united team in the achievement of measurable results and strategic goals
  • Experience in coaching and guiding HR Business Partners, Functional Managers and/or Employees through complex ER/IR processes and systems
  • Experience in developing and writing HR policy and providing the relevant tools to support the business needs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable legislation, standards and internal best practices
  • Knowledge of award interpretation and application
