In this role you will encourage clients to become self-sufficient and lead fulfilling lives by offering them person-centered support, community access and personal care. You will be working in various residential homes across Southern Tasmanian region, Tasmania. The shifts currently on offer are a mixture of weekday and weekend along with active overnight shifts and all applicants must be able to workdays and night shifts on a regular basis.Please note we require you to work a combination of shifts, including mornings, short community shifts, days, afternoons, sleepovers, and active nights through the week and weekends.You will join a collaborative and supportive team, who will provide individualised training so you can best support our varied cohort of residents and clients in Launceston Tas regions. You will be a compassionate and reliable worker with a focus on empowering our residents and clients to live their best lives. You will have an empathic approach to service delivery, with a flexible and adaptable style, a sense of humour, and meticulous attention to detail.Key responsibilitiesAs a Disability Support Worker indicative responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with the office-based staff in the development and implementation of Person-Centred Plans (PCPs), ensuring the promotion of independent living skills through both formal and informal teaching methods.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including medication management, personal hygiene, food preparation, dressing, and mealtime support, while maintaining professional integrity and confidentiality.
  • Maintain accurate records related to medical, behavioural, and financial documentation, adhering to guidelines, and ensuring the collection and storage of receipts when handling resident funds.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks such as payroll, compliance reports, and client procedural paperwork in a timely and accurate manner, while strictly following genU policies, procedures, and WHS standards.
RequirementsTo be eligible, you must have or willing to complete:
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability or similar
  • Current Australian Drivers License
  • Completed First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • Working with Vulnerable People with NDIS Endorsement and Child related activity
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate - "Quality, Safety & You"
