The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.VCAA – Finance UnitLed by the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Unit's core purpose is to maintain strong financial management practices across all aspects of the VCAA, and as a result, see financial impacts considered as a part of all decision making.Role PurposeThe purpose of this role is to provide high quality financial accounting support for the unique functions of the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.As a Financial Accountant, your key responsibilities include:
Calculation and processing of fortnightly casual and sessional salaries, and related oncosts
Preparation and processing of monthly accruals
Preparation of general ledger reconciliations
Processing of payments and invoices through financial systems
Provision of quality customer service through attention to detail and timely response to queries
Undertaking financial data extracts and analysis for financial reporting and taxation requirements
Various tasks as directed, to support financial reporting and analysis, compliance, procurement, purchasing, VAGO audit and other month-end processing

Demonstrated experience with payroll calculations and banking reconciliations
Demonstrated experience with accounts receivable and payable functions

You have a willingness to learn and ability to adapt to changing priorities
