Learn more about what Hall & Wilcox can offer you:About the role and teamWe have a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced real property lawyer at Associate or Senior Associate level to join our national Property & Projects team in Newcastle, to work with highly regarded Partner .This role will provide advice on general property law matters including acquisitions and disposals, options, leases, licences, easements, restrictive covenants, Crown Land and regulatory matters.The practice provides advice to government, the private sector and large community housing providers in relation to major tenders, property development projects, social and affordable housing projects, social infrastructure, activation and divestment of Government land and all types of real property matters including land due diligence, multi-million-dollar purchases and sales, commercial and retail leasing, licensing, easements, restrictive covenants, public positive covenants.Our Property & Projects team consists of over 110 people nationally and continues to grow. We are seeking a motivated lawyer eager to work in a collaborative team environment that offers the opportunity to work on an interesting and varied range of projects and property matters.About youYou will ideally have the following skills and experience:
  • between 3 and 7 years of post-admission experience as a real property lawyer;
  • additional experience in projects, infrastructure and/or construction law is not essential, however will be highly regarded;
  • the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
  • excellent technical, analytical and drafting skills with keen attention to detail;
  • outstanding verbal and written communication skills;
  • a strong commitment to client service and the ability to manage client relationships;
  • a focus on achieving commercial solutions for our clients;
  • a keen interest in contributing to the growth and success of our property practice in the Newcastle and Hunter Valley regions;
  • for senior candidates, a willingness and ability to mentor and supervise junior members of the team; and
  • the ability to organise and prioritise effectively.
