To learn more about our department, our team and the work we do, .About the opportunityThere is currently one (1) permanent full-time position available for immediate filling.The Operations Manager leads the Weather Station Operations team to ensure the success of field research trials by effective leadership of a diverse and geographically distributed workforce. You will manage the liaison between stakeholders and weather station operations to ensure clarity on the needs of industry, growers, researchers to ensure stakeholders have clarity on weather data variables, quality and access.We are looking for individuals with:
Substantial experience in weather and climate monitoring operations and data quality control and system performance oversight including the ability to lead, manage, take the initiative, and deliver agreed outcomes in specified timeframes.
Highly developed leadership and management skills with the ability to negotiate with, motivate and influence people and a focus on providing sound strategic advice.
Highly developed workplace communication skills including written, verbal and interpersonal; negotiation and facilitation skills; and the ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships. Solid background in managing and engaging with research project operations with the capacity to integrate scientific, technical, and service delivery perspectives.
