- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to a team of Project Engineers, navigating complex challenges with the support of the Project Engineering Manager.
- Drive the development of Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) solutions and serve as the technical lead on high-impact energy infrastructure projects.
- Lead the creation, enhancement, and governance of Horizon Power's engineering specifications and design scopes to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Influence and negotiate major customer connections to Horizon Power networks, delivering cost-effective solutions that meet safety and regulatory standards.
- Review and evaluate engineering deliverables to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and quality expectations-setting a high benchmark for technical excellence.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships across Horizon Power, offering proactive and customer-focused technical guidance.
- Provide formal engineering endorsement and approval of technical documentation, including drawings, reports, standards, derogations, and dispensations.
- Extensive and proven experience in transmission terminal and substation design.
- Practical understanding of utility power system requirements and operational constraints.
- Skilled in delivering engineering design advice - as well as developing concept and detailed designs across varying types of connections.
- Mandatory qualification - Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Eligibility for Professional Membership of Engineers Australia.
- Exceptional skills in solving technical challenges and making confident decisions in complex or ambiguous scenarios.
- Proven ability to collaborate within multi-disciplinary project teams - managing stakeholder engagement and supplier negotiations to safely deliver projects on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
- Strong relationship building skills - build trusted relationships and proactively fostering connections with customers, peers, and key internal/external stakeholders.
