As a Senior Tax Analyst who is part of the TikTok Tax Team, you will be part of a team that spans the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our Accounting, Finance and Legal teams. You will be part of the team that looks after the tax obligations of TikTok in the Oceania Region (Australia, NZ, Pacific Islands) and work with stakeholders from different business areas within the wider TikTok Group.This role is based in Sydney, Australia. This role requires being in the office in Sydney's CBD for 3 days a week.Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be a valued local member of the Oceania tax team, mainly looking after TikTok's tax obligations in Australia and New Zealand. Your main responsibilities include:
- Preparing tax advice in relation to Australian and New Zealand taxes to the business and on the tax outcomes of commercial transactions.
- Managing preparation of Business Activity Statements/GST returns for the Oceania region.
- Preparation of Income Tax returns (including input into Schedules) along with external advisors to ensure timely and accurate filing in Australia and New Zealand.
- Collaborating with tax teams in other jurisdictions on tax issues in the Oceania region.
- Supporting statutory audits and finalization of financial statements.
- Assisting in data preparation and collation for tax audits and litigation.
- Identifying and executing process improvement and optimization projects to ensure effective and efficient management of resources for the tax team.
- Monitoring developments in tax legislation and being able to communicate these to the business as they could impact current or future commercial transactions.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Business, Finance, Law, or a related field.
- 5 years of work experience handling direct and/or indirect tax (GST) compliance and advisory experience at a Big 4/large mid-tier accounting firm, or a large multinational business in Australia and/or New Zealand.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with global stakeholders across multiple timezones and cultures.
- Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on tax matters in relation to e-commerce businesses is highly preferred.
- Meticulous with a strong attention to detail, with a strong commitment to delivering accurate, high quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset and the ability to navigate challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CA/CPA are strongly preferred.
